Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

JULY 27 at 5pm – 7:30pm

Alice in Wonderland at Watrperry

Take a trip down the rabbit hole with Chapterhouse Theatre Company this summer in the wonderful setting of the Waterperry outdoor Ampitheatre, as they present the classic tale of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Join Alice as she stumbles into the magical world of Wonderland and meet a whole host of colourful characters. From the unforgettable White Rabbit and the madcap Mad Hatter to the terrifying Queen of Hearts, Alice’s journey couldn’t be filled with more adventure. Presented in beautiful Victorian costume and alive with song, dance and original music, this is a production to delight the entire family.

THAME PLAY DAY

JULY 28 at 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Thame Play Day

A Free Play Day put on by the Red Kite Children’s Centre at Southern Road Recreational Ground in Thame.

Activities on the day include a Bouncy Castle, Soft Play, Sumo Suits, Mud Kitchen, Kids Playbus, Drumming Workshop and much much more….

Since funding was removed by Oxfordshire Country Council The Red Kite Centre is now a registered charity and relies on donations to continue to run so donations are welcome.

 

Riverside Festival in Chalbury

JULY 28 – 29

Riverside Festival

Going from strength to strength, and much loved by all, Riverside has become a major fixture in Oxfordshire’s music calendar, with more than 30 acts playing across three stages. Despite the cost of putting on an event of this size, it is still entirely free to enter, and that is down to the astonishing community effort that goes into staging the festival.

Wacky World at Banbury Spiceball Leisure Centre

Wacky World Banbury

THAME EMERGENCY SERVICES DAY

JULY 29 @ 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Meet your local emergency services team! Learn about our different roles, join in with activities, and see the emergency vehicles. There will be stalls with information, activities for the children including face painting, an mascots will be in attendance. Refreshments will be available.

Free public parking is available in Thame town centre, a short walk from Southern Road Recreational Ground in Thame where the event is being held.

FAMILY FUN DAY AND DOG SHOW

JULY 29 @ 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Hearing Dogs Latte Summer Show - Sunday 10th September

A family fun day and BBQ at Lewknor Village Hall. Activities include tombola, Bric A Brac, a BBQ and much more.

PETER RABBIT – MISCHIEF AND MAYHEM at The Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock

JUNE 16  – SEPTEMBER 8

Bunnies will be bouncing all over the Museum this summer, as Peter Rabbit hops, skips and jumps right off the page in this interactive exhibition about Beatrix Potter’s most famous  creation.

The Brew House gallery will transform into a playroom where visitors can have fun helping Mrs Tiggywinkle hang up the laundry or visit Mrs Rabbit in her burrow!

Children can dress up as Peter, help plant carrots in Mr McGregor’s garden or curl up with one of the books in the story corner.

PIRATES, PANTS AND WELLYPHANTS AT THE RIVER & ROWING MUSEUM, Henley

JUNE 22  – SEPTEMBER 16 

Pirates, Pants and Wellyphants

Nick Sharratt, the man behind the instantly recognisable illustrations for Jacqueline Wilson’s Tracy Beaker books, is the subject of this colourful, humorous and hands-on exhibition.

This fun packed exhibition explores Nick’s passion for drawing, from childhood to his current status as an internationally renowned illustrator and author.

INDOOR BEACH AT OXFORD GARDEN & SHOPPING VILLAGE

JULY 16 – SEPTEMBER 2

Indoor beach

Oxford Garden & Shopping Centre have a free indoor beach this summer with free activities throughout the summer and you can sit back in the seating area and enjoy a milkshake or a cup of tea.

Free activities throughout the summer include:

  • Face Painting on Tuesday 24th July, Tuesday 31st July & Thursday 9th August 2018 (11am – 3pm)
  • Punch & Judy Show and Balloon Modelling on Thursday 26th July, Thursday 2nd August & Thursday 16th August (shows on the hour 11am – 3pm)
  • Dizzy Deans Magic Show on Tuesday 7th August & Tuesday 21st August & Thursday 30th August (shows on the hour 11am – 3pm)

This summer, Creation Theater will be venturing to University Parks in Oxford for their summer production of Swallows and Amazons.

SUMMER FUN TRAILS AT WATERPERRY GARDENS

JULY 14 – SEPTEMBER 2

Waterperry gardens

Orienteering family fun during the summer holidays from 14th July through to the 2nd September. Enjoy exploring the ornamental gardens, using directions and clues, to find the characters!

Complete your adventure and collect your prize! £3 per child (compass supplied), tickets available from the Gift Barn and Garden Shop. Children must be accompanied by an adult for whom the standard garden entrance fee applies.

Millets Maze

Millets Maize Maze is back again this year and it’s definitely worth a visit, plus there’s so much more at Millets to see too.

The theme this year is the Wild WIld West and it will be open from 18 July – 3 September with lots of activities to explore

STORY TELLING AT GREYS COURT

JULY 20  – SEPTEMBER 4

Story telling at Greys court

Everyday in the summer holidays, Greys Court will be telling the stories that Lady Brunner loved as a child in the secret garden at Greys Court.

Rediscover the childhood classics adored by Lady Brunner this summer, as you join our storytellers in the secret garden, an area not normally open to the public.

Sessions run at 1pm and 2.30pm every day of the summer holidays, subject to availability.
