Thomley is so good I was torn between keeping the existence of this place all to myself and telling everyone I know about it. I have of course chosen the latter and the fact that they are a non-profit, charitable organisation that helps thousand of disabled people each year gives me even more reason to encourage people to go and support this great charity.
On arrival you are welcomed in by one of the many staff though the gate that is securely locked behind you, and with the high fence encompassing the perimeter you can relax knowing your children are safe inside.
Once we had signed in at reception my 2 girls along with their group of friends were delighted to have the freedom to go off and explore the vast grounds of Thomley. We spent over 4 hours drinking tea and coffee while the children drove the go-karts, climbed the climbing wall, played in the “imagination room”, enjoyed the soft play and banged the drums in the music room.
There’s a café onsite serving very well priced food and drinks throughout the day.
My children haven’t stopped talking about Thomley since we visited last week and are desperate to return.
Address: Menmarsh Road, Worminghall, Buckinghamshire, HP18 9JZ
10:00am – 3:30pm, Tuesday to Saturday and Mondays in the school holidays
As Thomley is a charity, they ask for a voluntary contribution towards your visit. They suggest an £8 donation per disabled child, and £10 for children without a disability. For any sibling they ask for the same donation, but for the third and fourth sibling they would only ask for half of the £8 / £10 donation.
There is no donation for parents or carers. The sensory room is an additional £2 donation and if you are visiting on a preschool day it’s a £6 donation for over twos, £2 for under ones and £4 for between one and two.
Recommended donations are flexible and families will not be turned away due to affordability.
