The Best Festivals for Families 2019

Wellies, tents, food stalls, entertainment, and not forgetting getting your groove on in a field. What’s not to love about festivals? And they’re a great place to take the kiddies too, your festival days don’t have to be behind you just yet. There are some amazing festivals in the UK that offer all sorts of family friendly entertainment. So grab a G&T, put your feet up, and check out our favourite festivals for families in 2019.

 

Camp Bestival

Where: Lulworth Castle, East Lulworth, Dorset

When: 25 – 28 July 2019

Camp Bestival won Best Family Festival 5 times at the UK Festivals Awards, and it’s easy to see why. Here kids are king. Set in the majestic grounds of Lulworth Castle, on Dorset’s dramatic Jurassic coastline, Camp Bestival is jam-packed with entertainment, from stellar musical morsels and cultural delights to stunning sideshow attractions and lashings of family fun.  Featuring a truly enormous Kids’ Garden your little’uns will be utterly spoilt for choice. With a host of thrilling activities from soft play and circus skills to go-carts and glitter, there’s plenty of excitement for kids of all ages.

The Big Feastival

Where: Alex James’ Farm, The Cotswolds

When: 23 – 25 August 2019

Alex James of Blur fame *swoon*, brings The Big Feastival to the Cotswolds again in 2019. This is a feel good festival of food and music for all the family. And aside for the awesome tunes, you’ll be spoilt for choice for what to do while you’re there. At the Big Feastival you’ll find more fun than you can shake a glow stick at, including; a vintage fun fair, Animal Farm Park, the Crayons & Crafts arts area, tree climbing, The Big Top, face painting, story telling, jam sessions, bubbles and more at Little Dudes’ Den is the centre of fun for kids at the festival.

Marvellous Festival

Where: Dinton Pastures Country Park, Wokingham, Berkshire

When: 20 – 21 July 2019

The Vibe…

Marvellous is a family-friendly tribute act festival in Wokingham, Berkshire. It’s on a smaller scale which makes it an ideal first time festival for those looking to dip their toes. As well as fantastic cover acts belting out all the classics, there’s loads to do and see for all the family. This year there will be loads of free activities for kids, and a fairground.

Latitude

Where: Henham Park, Southwold, Suffolk

When: 18 – 21 July 2019

The Vibe…

With activities and entertainment for kids, teens and families now spread out across three exciting areas, it’s no wonder Latitude has previously won Best Family Festival and Best Family Day Out. At Latitude you’ll find:

Kids’ Area – created with love and imagination, the area is full of creative, wild and adventurous activities.

Inbetweeners’ Area – for young people aged 12 years +, come into the woods and experience another world of music, media, technology, fashion, wildlife survival skills and assault courses suspended in the trees.

Enchanted Garden – The Enchanted Garden is open to anyone with kiddies under 13 years old and will have entertainment for all children regardless of their age.

Just So Festival

Where: Rode Hall, Cheshire

Wilderness

Wilderness welcomes festivalgoers of all ages and is a family friendly event. Rough and tumble in the great outdoors, camp under the stars, colourful characters roam free and explore the family dreamland. Wilderness as a whole is very family friendly, but they do also have a dedicated kids area for children. This is teeming with activities to keep your little ones (and you) entertained throughout the day. Think workshops, games, circus skills, and lots more.

Wychwood Festival

Where: Cheltenham Racecourse

When: 31 May – 2 June 2019

As well as a fantastic music line up, Wychwood Festival at Cheltenham Racecourse has a lot on offer for families with children of all ages. There are amazing workshops for kids including circus skills, comedy for kids, dance classes, crafts and much more.

Glastonbury

Where: Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset

When: 26 – 30 June 2019

The iconic Glastonbury will be back in 2019 after taking a break in 2018. Truly the Big Daddy on the festival circuit, as well as a guaranteed spectacular A-List line up year after year, Glastonbury has a great scene for families over in Kidzfield. Think circus skills, workshops, music, dance and entertainment, arts and crafts and much more.

Blissfields presents Blisscamp

Where: Woodmancott, Winchester
