Beauty and the Beast Panto, Oxford

29 November – 12 January

Beauty and the Beast Oxford Panto

Beauty and the Beast will be the 2019 panto at the Oxford Playhouse showing from 29 November 2019 – 12 January 2020

Beautiful beasts and where to find them…

Meet Beauty– smart as a whip, bold as brass, with a heart of pure gold. She’s the opposite of the Beast – gruff, rough and in need of a shave. But when Beauty finds herself trapped in a magical castle with the Beast, the two of them have to learn to get along.

Will they meet a beastly end? Or have a beautiful ‘happily ever after’? One thing’s for sure, our mismatched pair will need a hand from you to make their dreams come true.

Full of super singing, dazzling dancing and lashings of slapstick silliness, this year’s panto is brought to you by the team behind Dick Whittington and His Cat and Jack and the Beanstalk. So get ready to boo and cheer – another smashing panto is here!

Duration: 2 hours with interval

An Oxford Playhouse production

Written and Directed by Steve Marmion

Age guideline 5 to 105!

Peter Pan at North Wall

1 December – 5 January

Peter Pan

A shadow at the window, a sprinkling of fairy dust and then straight on till morning: the Darling children are off on an adventure. Can Peter Pan lead the Lost Boys to victory, or will Hook win Neverland?

This winter, pull up a chair for Creation Theatre’s eighth family Christmas show at The North Wall. From the creative team behind last year’s sell-out A Christmas Carol and 2016’s anarchic Snow White and Other Tales from the Brothers Grimm, this brand-new adaptation of J.M Barrie’s Peter Pan is packed full of songs, sword fights and awfully big adventures.

Recommended for ages 7+

The Adventures of Pinocchio at Cornerstone

7 – 29 December

Pinocchio Cornerstone

The 2019 Christmas show at the Cornerstone in Didcot is The Adventures of Pinocchio and we are delighted to hear that it is being produced by the same creative team behind The Nutcracker and the Mouse King and The Pied Piper which we absolutely loved.

Join the Cornerstone for this magical tale about a naughty runaway puppet who dreams of being a real boy. No matter how hard Pinocchio tries, he just keeps getting in to trouble. And whenever he tells tales his nose grows…

Watch as Pinoccio tumbles in and out of adventures as tries to find his way home to his old wood carver ‘father’ Geppetto and learns that if he wants to become human, he must first learn to be honest.

Morgan & West: A (Sort of) Christmas Carol Magic Show

13 – 24 December

Morgan and West

Morgan & West: A (Sort of) Christmas Carol Magic Show is showing at The Mill in Banbury from 13 – 24 December 2019.

The world’s most distinguished duo of time-travelling magicians Morgan & West present Charles Dickens’ timeless classic: A Christmas Carol.

There is only one problem – they haven’t read it. Well not just one problem, there are also only two of them to play all the parts. Oh, and Mr West is rather insistent on doing a magic show at the same time. How hard can it be?

Morgan & West have appeared on your television screens as part of The Next Great Magician (ITV), Penn & Teller: Fool Us (ITV), and The Slammer (CBBC).

Fun for all the family in this utterly splendid (and totally silly) Christmas magic extravaganza!
