What better way to add some sparkle to Christmas for your little ones than by booking to meet the big man himself. Santa is a pretty busy man at this time of year, but has freed up some space in his diary to meet the lovely children of Oxfordshire. From fantastic Grottos to breakfast with Father Christmas, we’ve pulled together our list of the best of the best in Oxfordshire and the surrounding area this Christmas.


Santa’s Grotto at Frosts Garden Centre, Millets Farm

Taking place between 11 November – 24 December.

Santa’s Grotto is back…and its bigger and better than ever before!

Join Frosts for a unique grotto experience like no other…Enter Santa’s magical wonderland, sing with his bashful elves and then make some reindeer food ready to sprinkle on Christmas Eve.

The Adventure continues into Santa’s living room where you will listen to an enchanted story read by Santa himself.

With lots of surprises along the way this is the ultimate Santa experience for the whole family to enjoy!

Breakfast or Tea with Santa at Bicester Avenue Wyevale Garden Centre

Daily from 18 November – 24 December. Take your Little Diggers along and enjoy a delicious, freshly-prepared breakfast or tea! The whole family meets Santa, children decorate a festive biscuit and then choose their very own present to take home! While you’re there why not visit Santa’s grotto too? To book tickets click here

Santa’s Grotto at Haddenham Garden Centre

Santa will be arriving at 10am on Saturday 18th November  and his grotto is open until 11am – 4pm every weekend until Christmas.

Notcutts Garden Centre Grotto, Tea and Breakfast with Santa, Nuneham Courtenay

Enjoy a truly special Christmas experience this year at Santa’s Grotto with some of his favourite reindeer! As well as meeting these gorgeous winter creatures and Santa himself, children will receive a Christmas gift, personally given by Santa.

The Grotto is open daily from 19 November – 24 December

From 2 – 24 December you can treat your children to a very special and scrummy breakfast or tea in the company of Santa himself! Expect a fun-filled mealtime including a special present, and perhaps even a story or activity with Santa.

Chinnor Railway Santa Steam Special

Santa’s Steam Specials were enjoyed by thousands of happy families last year. Santa and his Elves will visit every family during the journey and they will provide quality presents for all fare-paying children and young people between the ages of 0-15 yrs. Everyone can also enjoy a spiced hot berry cordial and a delicious mince pie served at your seat . Your return journey from Chinnor to Thame Junction takes just under 50 minutes – which is probably just about the right journey length for younger children.

Christmas at Fairytale Farm, Chipping Norton

At the Farm’s magical ‘Christmas Fairytale’ event, children can meet Santa in his indoor fairytale grotto and receive a present, join in with various festive activities, enjoy all the usual Fairytale Farm attractions and see our enchanting Christmas lights. Christmas activities include Christmas cookie decorating, Santa’s Christmas hunt and mulled wine and mince pies for the parents. Christmas Grotto with Father Christmas at Banbury Museum

Guess who is coming to Banbury Museum this December? It’s only Father Christmas.

Come and enter a very special winter wonderland grotto and meet Father Christmas. Such special memory making moments!

As well as meeting Father Christmas each child will receive a lovely gift, a personalised Christmas activity pack and a very special Santa museum trail.

Day out with Thomas and Father Christmas at Didcot Railway

Join Didcot Railway Centre as they welcome Thomas for a day of family fun. A ticket for Day Out With Thomas includes the train ride with Thomas as well as a variety of Thomas & Friends™ themed entertainment. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet The Fat Controller from the Island of Sodor.

Christmas at Blenheim

Follow the trail along winding paths, beside tranquil waters and through extraordinary Parkland landscaped by ‘Capability’ Brown.

Explore the scented Fire Garden; a circular carpet of dancing flames, adorned with lanterns, set against the backdrop of glittering ancient woodland outlined in Christmas colour that stretches high into the night sky. Discover Christmas trees that sing, a swaying lawn of fibre optic colour and sparkling hedgerows.

The lake will be aglow with brightly-lit boats and dancing fountain jets, and the woodland across the Great Lake will spring to life in time to much-loved Christmas music.

Other highlights include the fairy-lit harbour and the lakeside boathouse which will become a temporary home for Santa Claus.

Christmas Festival at Odds Farm

Daily from 25 November – 24 December, Christmas is back at Odds Farm, bigger, better and more magical than ever before! Present your Christmas Festival Pass and come and meet Father Christmas, before heading onto the Cuddly Creative Christmas Corner and finally onto the Elves’ Workshop to collect something extra special. Plus, enjoy Festive Entertainment, take part in fun Christmas-themed Arts & Crafts and train to become an Elf at the Elf Academy.
