FitMum Beginners Courses:
Aimed at those who are new to exercise or have had a significant time away and therefore may be feeling anxious or intimidated and not know where to start. The course will get you motivated and help you feel fitter, stronger, more energised and ultimately confident enough to continue to incorporate fitness into your lifestyle and progress to other Fit Round The Family classes or alternatives in Thame. You will start at the same time as others so that you’re all in the same boat and learn technique for how to carry out a range of simple and effective muscular strength and endurance exercises such as squats, lunges, bridges, press ups, core work etc, and also get an introduction to a few bits of equipment. Light non-impact cardio is integrated to get that heart rate up to help improve your cardiovascular system.
Circuit Training continues to be a popular type of exercise class. It is essentially a number of selected exercises arranged in a continuous sequence that each participant takes at their own pace for a certain period of time or repetitions before moving on to the next exercise in the circuit. There is a good mix of muscular strength, endurance and cardiovascular exercises involved. Some exercises use various pieces of equipment such as dumbbells, exercise balls, kettlebells etc while others are bodyweight exercises. You will get a full body workout with the objective of developing/maintaining general overall fitness.
A more intense but shorter workout using cardio/bodyweight exercises for certain time intervals interspersed with rest/active recovery periods. This is a group class format where you will follow the instructor. Be prepared to work hard and reap the many benefits.
A series of safe and effective exercises using a mat, focusing entirely on the core muscles. These will be performed in a continuous sequence for a certain amount of time or repetitions like in a Circuits class.
Over to you! I carry out a full consultation process with any prospective client and then plan the exercise prescription to suit your goals and objectives. I also have a FitStart for Mums package for beginners or those returning to exercise that can be carried out in your home or outdoors (with or without a child in tow!).
