Chinese New Year at Blenheim Palace: 17 February 2018

Enjoy a traditional Double Guan Yin Chinese Lion dance accompanied by a drummer and tuck in to some delicious Chinese street food from a variety of stalls in the Great Court.

Don’t miss out on special photos and meet-and-greet opportunities with the lion, then venture into the Palace to warm up and discover the magnificent Great Hall festooned with strings of Chinese lanterns.

Disco Dadz, Headington: 17 February 2018

This Saturday at Barton Neighbourhood Centre, Headington It’s DISCO DADZ, a cool thing to do with kids under 11. A great vent for the whole family.

Location: Barton Neighbourhood Centre, Headington.

Date and time: 17 February 10.45am – 12.45pm

Cost: £1 per family.

 

POTTERY WORKSHOPS FOR KIDS: 17 February 2018

These pottery clay workshops looks like a really fun filled activity for any creative children out there.  They are two hour session making and painting your very own, creative objects out of clay. Creations are then fired at the Barro Studio for collection.

The pottery courses are taking place on 17th February 2pm  – 4pm at Lisa Jayne Art Studio, Station Road, Bletchingdon. OX5 3BQ.  Just remember to book early as these popular courses fill up fast!

The pottery workshop are £22 per person which includes clay, glazing and firing.

Maker Club – Chinese New Year: 17 February 2018

Welcome to the Year of the Dog! As the moon rises on a new Chinese lunar year, we welcome makers to a session of traditional Chinese crafts. Kids can have a go at fortune-telling by programming a Micro:bit and making a paper fortune cookie, and try papercraft to make and launch confetti canons and light-up paper lanterns to take home. Makers who have been before are welcome to bring along a project of their own to work on.

Date and time: Saturday, 17 February 2018 at 10am – 12pm (ages 12+) and 1pm – 3pm (ages 9 – 12)

GOING UNDERGROUND AT BANBURY MUSEUM: 17 February 2018

Ttravel underground to make your very own jumpy bunny, mole in a hole, brilliant badger, bouncy bat, playful fox and mischievous meerket.

Available Saturdays and every day during the Oxfordshire school holidays.

Times: 10:30am – 12:30pm and 2:00pm – 4:00pm

Cost: £2 per child

Suitable for: Children age 3+

Booking Information: Tickets available from the Museum Shop 10 minutes before the event starts. Please note that drop-in activities can be very popular. If very busy on the day, we will restrict tickets to timed entry slots. Tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis. Children aged 12 and under must be accompanied by, and remain with, an adult at all times.

China Festival at The Ashmolean Museum: 17 & 18 February 2018

Celebrate Chinese New Year, Year of the Dog, at the Ashmolean with a free and fabulous weekend festival for all ages. Experience a Chinese lion dance, listen to live music, enjoy performances of magical Chinese tales presented by The Story Museum, join a tour, try a trail and much more!

Activities at The Oxford Story Museum: 17 & 18 February 2018

The Adventures of a Bookworm

A fantastic Early Years activity with puppeteer and author Emma Boor! Come along and meet book worm and join in his amazing adventures through the world of story books. An interactive puppets and play session with music, gentle clowning and lots of joining in. Suitable for children aged 0-5 years.

All children must be accompanied by an adult. All children and adults must have a ticket to attend.

Meet Kipper

Meet everyone’s favourite dog and hear one of his stories, as Kipper pays us a visit!

ALPHABET ‘I SPY’ IN THE GARDENS – WATERPERRY GARDENS: 17 & 18 February 2018

Highway Rat Activity Trail at Wendover Woods: 17 – 18 February 2018

The Highway Rat is the latest Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler book to be brought to life at Wendover Woods.

Follow the panels, complete activities and interact with the forest as you head on a journey with The Highway Rat and all the characters from the story!

MINI VUE CINEMA IN OXFORD, 17 & 18 February 2018

Little Ankle Biters are always on the look out for ways to entertain the kids without spending a fortune, and going to the cinema for just £2.49 per person is one way of doing it, especially on a rainy day.

Vue Cinema in Oxford run Mini Mornings every weekend on a Saturday and Sunday morning, plus every day during the school holidays.
