Witney Christmas Lights Switch On Event: 24 November

Witney Christmas Lights Switch On Event is taking place on FRIDAY 24th NOVEMBER, 4.00pm – 8.00pm. This event is  supported by Witney Town Council and jointly organised by Witney Rotary Club, Witney Lions and Witney Round Table.

 

WOODSTOCK’S CHRISTMAS LIGHTS: 25 November

Woodstock’s Night of 1000 candles is an event not to be missed with shops open late, music and local schools participation.

CHRISTMAS POTTERY WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN: 25 November

This pottery workshops are a two hour session making and painting your very own, creative objects out of clay. Creations are then fired at the Barro Studio for collection.

The pottery courses are taking place on 25  November 9:30 – 11:30 at Lisa Jayne Art Studio, Station Road, Bletchingdon. OX5 3BQ.

The Christmas pottery workshop are £22 per person which includes clay, glazing and firing.

AIR POWER – SATURDAY SCIENCE CLUB: 25 November

Step aboard the fantastic flight workshop to explore the science of flying. Discover how airplanes stay in the sky and learn about the super-clever 18th century scientist who first described the theory of flight and how his principle is used to make a ball float magically in mid-air. With their new aviation expertise, our young pilots can then give flight to small rocket mice* and try to build the best paper airplane ever to navigate our small obstacle course.

JACK AND THE BEANSTALK PANTOMIME, COGGES FARM: 25 November

FE FI FO FUM PREPARE YOURSELF FOR LOTS OF FUN!!!!

With a beanstalk that will grow right in front of your eyes and an actual giant who makes an appearance, this funny and exciting story from M&M Theatrical Productions will amaze you and with lots of colourful characters, songs and dances we can guarantee it will be one of the best productions there has ever ‘bean’ at Cogges!!!!

Performances at 1 pm and 3pm in the barns, so dress up warm!

Nick Cope’s Songbook at Oxford’s Story Museum: 25 November

Monkeys, bears, socks and mud! Nick Cope sings about everything children are REALLY interested in, and you’re invited to join in!

Ex indie-rocker frontman of The Candyskins (considered by many to be one of the seminal bands of the Brit Pop era, along with Oxford-based groups Radiohead and Supergrass), Nick brings his own brand of acoustic folk-rock to the world of children’s music, creating interactive concerts for families.

Ride On Time Play session in Kidlington: 25 November

Ride on Time are hosting a play session with their huge range of push along ride-on toys.

JACK AND THE BEANSTALK PANTOMIME, OXFORD PLAYHOUSE

FEE-FI-FO-FUM, I smell lots of panto fun! Book now for Oxford’s most GIGANTIC panto yet!

CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL AT ODDS FARM: 25 – 26 November

Daily from 25 November – 24 December, Christmas is back at Odds Farm, bigger, better and more magical than ever before! Blenheim Palace’s Formal Gardens will light up for an unforgettable after-dark festive trail of lights.

SLEEPING BEAUTY PANTOMIME – THE THEATRE, CHIPPING NORTON

Once Upon A Time there lived a Princess, her long-suffering Nanny, her doting Fairy Godmother, and grumpy old King Lenny.

On her 18th birthday, the Princess pricks her finger on a spinning wheel and falls deeply asleep. When she wakes up, exactly four hundred years have passed and things have got a whole lot groovier… But who just kissed her? What strange clothes everyone is wearing! And what’s that music?!

Heaps of jokes, oodles of fantastic original tunes and a good dash of British History combine to make this a Sleeping Beauty like no other. From the glorious pageantry of the Tudors to the flower-powered freedom of the sixties, Chipping Norton’s panto is the most spectacular, the most splendid and the most stupefyingly funny show of the year.

ILLUMINATED WEEKENDS AT FAIRYTALE FARM, 25 & 26 NOVEMBER

Between now and Christmas Fairytale Farm will have their Illuminated Evenings every Saturday and Sunday.

The park will be open all day as normal, but when daylight fades the entire Enchanted Walk will become a magical wonderland of fairy lights!

The Beanstalk Cafe will be open throughout with a choice of hot and cold snacks.

CHRISTMAS AT WADDESDON: 25 & 26 NOVEMBER

The theme for this year’s decorations, Enchanted Menagerie, celebrates the weird and wonderful animals that can be seen throughout Waddesdon’s collections, from an elephant parade inspired by the 18th-century musical automaton to a life-sized zebra and trees decked with colourful birds and mythical beasts!

From dusk, an extraordinary new light and sound show Waddesdon Imaginarium, will be projected onto the Manor’s ornate façade.  Visitors will be dazzled by roaming porcelain animals, dancing musical clocks, fluttering clouds of butterflies and moths and
18th-century portraits creating a fantastical visual story of Waddesdon.

Wrap up warm, head outside and discover light art by American artist Lauren Booth. Electric Menagerie winds from the Aviary to the Stables,  with neon goats, parrots and even a flea circus.
