Thame Christmas lights switch on event takes place on Friday 1 December 2017,
Thame in Oxfordshire will host its annual community Christmas event which typically attracts thousands of local residents and families all looking to spoil themselves or their loved ones with good food and great gifts, not to mention the lantern parade and fantastic selection of entertainment and attractions on offer, including the return of our popular Santa’s Grotto and Go-Karts!
There will also be a human-sized snow globe, for you and your family to take photos in and play in the snow! The event is a celebration of music, food, craft and dance, organised by the Town Council, to commence the festive season.
Stalls will line the High Street selling everything from German sausages and mulled wine, to Christmas wreaths and handmade gifts. It’s the perfect time to begin your Christmas shopping. There will also be plenty of hot food and drink to keep you warm, including mulled wine and hot chocolate!
In the lead up to Thame Christmas Lights Switch-On on Friday 1 December, 24 Snowflakes have been hidden in shop windows around Cornmarket, Upper High Street, North Street, Butter Market, Swan Walk, Greyhound Walk and High Street. You can start hunting high and low from Wednesday 1 November – can you find them all? All of the Snowflakes are numbered to give you a helping hand. You can also use #SnowflakeSearch on social media for clues!
The first entry out of the hat with all the correct answers will get the chance to push the plunger on the town’s Christmas lights plus there are prizes for the runners up. To be in with a chance, return your entry form to the Town Hall Information Centre by 4pm on Thursday 30 November. Don’t forget to include your name, age, address and contact number.
