After an hour or so at the Lego Exhibit at The Banbury Museum it was lunch time and we were ravenous, we walked out of the Castle Quay shopping centre and into the pretty streets of Banbury and came across Pizza Calzone.
We walked in and were greeted by their super friendly staff who offered us a table. The restaurant had a really authentic Italian feel about it and the food was delicious and generous.
The menu offered a variety of authentic Italian dishes including pizza, salads and pasta, and although there was no specific children’s menu more than half of the menu can be turned into a child’s smaller portion for just £6.95.
My youngest opted for the Spaghetti Carbonara and me and my eldest went for the Spaghetti Bolognaise, my dish was also £6.95 as it was on their special lunch menu. The food was delicious and as good as any pasta dish I have tried in Italy and the people serving couldn’t have made us feel more welcome.
Near the door they had the kind of ice cream counter that you would expect to see in an ice cream parlour in Italy and my girls chose their ice cream each and devoured it in minutes.
Al in all it was a great experience at a reasonable price and I am sure we will be returning in the future.
