Pick Your Own Farms in Oxfordshire

What better way to get your little ones interested in food than taking them out to pick their own fruit and veg. Oxfordshire and the surrounding area has loads of fantastic farms which offer pick your own for families, it’s a great way to spend a few hours out in the fresh air.

Q Gardens, Nr Abngdon

At Q Gardens near Abingdon you can check into the Pick Your Own hut (on the opposite side of the main road from the shop) from 10am.  It’s cash only in the PYO hut.

The tea room at Q Gardens serves the best of local produce – tasty cakes and cream teas, their own homemade quiche, sandwiches and filled baguettes made from thick crusty bread all at very reasonable prices.

They will soon be re-building their play equipment to make it a much more appealing for younger visitors.  The new play area will be completed in mid-June, in plenty of time for the summer holidays.

The hut open from 10am to 5pm.

Millets Farm, Nr Abingdon

From June to September Millets Farm has over 50 acres of crops exclusively for Pick Your Own (PYO).

A choice of over 30 different fruits and vegetables can be picked including strawberries, raspberries, cherries, blackberries, redcurrants, gooseberries, courgettes, apples, broad beans, sweetcorn and much much more.

With Pick Your Own you cannot get fresher! And because of this freshness they can choose varieties for flavour not for shelf life, that’s why our fruit and veg taste so good.

A large proportion of the soft fruits are in poly-tunnels so great to pick whatever the weather.

Entrance to the PYO fields is £2 per person redeemable against any fruit purchased.

Millets Farm is also home to an Animal Walkway, a Falconry, a Play Area, the Maize Maze and the Little Ankle Biters Soft Play Award winner Sprouts Play Barn so you can really spend the whole day there.

Medley Manor Farm, Oxford

A small family run farm in the heart of Oxford City. There is a pick your own open to the public in the summer months and a cafe open on Saturdays in June and July from 12pm to 6pm for light lunches and teas.

They sell strawberry and raspberry ice-cream, made with the farm’s fruit.

Rectory Farm, Stanton St John

Tucked away in the idyllic Stanton St John a few miles from Oxford, Rectory Farm is a perfect get back to nature and inexpensive day out for the family.
Entry is free with access to a bouncy castle, sandpit and haystacks for the children to play on.
There is a well-stocked farm shop and café onsite serving delicious toasted sandwiches and a lovely cup of tea.  They also offer a kids lunch box consisting of a roll (jam, ham or cheese), a drink, yoghurt, biscuit and crisps for a reasonable £4.50
At other times of the year gooseberries, blackberries, raspberries, red currents, black currents, broad beans and rhubarb are also available to pick.

Pick Strawberries at The Old Farm Shop, Nr Abingdon

The Old Farm Shop is a family run business supplying and producing good quality local produce.
Our farm is open daily from
8am – 6pm and free for all the family to come and visit all the farm animals.
