Going to the pantomime like for many families has become an annual tradition for us and we absolutely love it. We have pulled together a list of pantos showing in and around Oxfordshire this Christmas 2017.

Jack and the Beanstalk Pantomime, Oxford Playhouse

FEE-FI-FO-FUM, I smell lots of panto fun! Book now for Oxford’s most GIGANTIC panto yet!

Scale new heights with Jack and the Beanstalk, Oxford Playhouse’s spectacular family pantomime for 2017.  After getting into humungous trouble with his mother for selling their hapless cow for a handful of beans, Jack’s dreams come true when they start to grow… and grow… and GROW.

Join him on the adventure of a lifetime as he outwits the giant and is reunited with his childhood sweetheart Jill…all with a little help from his friends…and you, of course!

Add into the mix hilarious jokes, lots of sparkle and bucket loads of music and dancing – fabulous festive fun is to be had by all. So go on, get practising your boos and hisses and cheer for our Jack as he climbs to the top of the beanstalk. Who knows what surprises he will face but there is only one thing that’s for sure – it’ll be the best panto in the land.

Jack and the Beanstalk Pantomime- Wycombe Swan, High Wycombe

A mighty beanstalk will grow on St Mary Street as the giant pantomime adventure Jack and the Beanstalk comes to Wycombe Swan this festive season starring Blue star Simon Webbe, Britain’s Got Talent winner Ashleigh Butler, much loved CBeebies star Chris Jarvis and fabulous panto dame extraordinaire Nigel Ellacott. Follow Jack, his hapless brother, his mother Dame Trot and climb a beanstalk of gigantic proportions to cloudland in the spectacular family pantomime. Doomed to sell his trusty cow, join Jack as he fights to save the beautiful Princess, outwit the evil giant and win riches beyond his wildest dreams, and the hand of the girl he loves.

Sleeping Beauty Pantomime – The Theatre, Chipping Norton

Once Upon A Time there lived a Princess, her long-suffering Nanny, her doting Fairy Godmother, and grumpy old King Lenny.

On her 18th birthday, the Princess pricks her finger on a spinning wheel and falls deeply asleep. When she wakes up, exactly four hundred years have passed and things have got a whole lot groovier… But who just kissed her? What strange clothes everyone is wearing! And what’s that music?!

Heaps of jokes, oodles of fantastic original tunes and a good dash of British History combine to make this a Sleeping Beauty like no other. From the glorious pageantry of the Tudors to the flower-powered freedom of the sixties, Chipping Norton’s panto is the most spectacular, the most splendid and the most stupefyingly funny show of the year.

Cinderella Pantomime, Thame Players Theatre

Cinderella is the universally appealing story of a kind-hearted, beautiful girl who is mistreated and and then falls in love with the perfect Prince Charming. Add to this her faithful friend Buttons; a fairy godmother; repulsive, ridiculous ugly sisters; the Broker’s men pursuing her bankrupt but loving father; a lovable pantomime horse; singing and dancing and the festive fun is complete.

This is always a really popular event and tickets sell out quickly.

Dates:  Performances take place from Fri 1st – Sun 3rd and Wed 6th – Sun 10th December with 2 performances on each Saturday and Sunday at 2.00 p.m. and 5.30 p.m.Weekday evening performances start at 7.45 p.m.

Robin Hood Pantomime – The Kenton Theatre, Henley

Follow the exciting escapades of our dashing hero and his loyal band of merry men in this madcap, medieval romp.

Watch as Robin fights to restore justice for the people of Sherwood, win the heart of the beautiful Maid Marion and rid the land from the avaricious Sheriff of Nottingham once and for all.

With heaps of audience participation, thrilling sword fights, archery contests, spirited heroes and dastardly villains, experience a Christmas treat like no other as this much loved tale is given an exhilarating twist in the Kenton Theatre’s most spectacular pantomime to date.

SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS PANTOMIME, AYLESBURY WATERSIDE THEATRE

This year’s festive family pantomime at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs starring Su Pollard as Wicked Queen.

Not to be dwarfed by last year’s panto, this year’s extravaganza is set to be the fairest of them all with dynamic dance, sparkling costumes, sensational songs and barrels of audience participation. Together with the most Wicked Queen, most handsome Prince and most charming of dwarfs, this year’s magical production will leave you feeling more than Happy!
Mirror mirror on the wall, this is the must-see panto of them all!

Jack and the Beanstalk Pantomime, Cogges Farm

FE FI FO FUM PREPARE YOURSELF FOR LOTS OF FUN!!!!

With a beanstalk that will grow right in front of your eyes and an actual giant who makes an appearance, this funny and exciting story from M&M Theatrical Productions will amaze you and with lots of colourful characters, songs and dances we can guarantee it will be one of the best productions there has ever ‘bean’ at Cogges!!!!

Performances at 1 pm and 3pm in the barns, so dress up warm!

Red Riding Hood Goes Out West Pantomime, Didcot Civic Hall

Red Riding Hood Goes Out West is a new telling of the Red Riding Hood tale set in the American West. Red Riding Hood, an independent-minded English girl, arrives in the town of Not Very Big Boulder to save Grandma from the outlaw, Bad Bart, and his Incompetent sidekick, brains. Bad Bart wants to buy Grandma’s home for a pittance as there is ‘gold in them thar hills!’. Red manages to foil his plan. In desperation, Bad Bart hires Big Bad Wolf, an Indian brave with a villainous reputation, to kill Grandma, leaving Bart able to claim the island as his own. But help it at hand in the form of the Lone Ranger Tonto – or it would be if the Lone Ranger were more competent and less vain! Red Ridinghood, the children and Tonto save the day.
