Join the Big Easter Bunny Hunt around the ornamental gardens. Find them all and claim a special Easter prize. £2 per child – children must be accompanied by an adult for whom the garden entrance fee applies. Runs from 24th March – 15th April.

The Shake Shop’s 7th Birthday Party – Witney

The Shake Shop in Witney are celebrating their 7th birthday by giving away the first 70 shakes on Easter Monday and then they’re just £1 each after that. There will also be lots of games, competitions and goody bags for the first 25 people.

George’s Marvellous Medicine Workshops – OXFORD PLAYHOUSE

For a few brief moments he had touched with the very tips of his fingers the edge of a magical world.

Join us for two marvellous days of fun and folly, as you explore the wondrous world of storyteller Roald Dahl.

From his exciting characters to his playful language, you’ll delve into the world of George’s Marvellous Medicine to create your own short performance for family and friends inspired by Dahl’s work

George’s Marvellous Medicine – Oxford Playhouse

Most grandmothers are lovely, kind, helpful old ladies. Not George’s Grandmother. George’s Grandmother likes to gobble up slugs and bugs, and is always telling George what to do.

But one day, when his parents leave him alone with the grizzly old grunion, George takes his chance and sets about creating a brand new medicine to cure her of her cruelty. Little does he know that his perilous potion will be the start of a rather marvellous adventure…

Science Oxford

There are a number of events happening with Science Oxford over the Easter Holidays


Grow Wild at the Botanic Garden

Celebrate the start of spring with this very special gardening workshop and a great introduction to the science in nature. Perfect for all budding horticulturalists, they’’ll be making greenhouses from plastic bags, sowing seeds and digging into the cleverness of plants with beanstalk mazes and upside down seedlings. Take a tour of the glasshouses, create invisible plant food from common kitchen ingredients and learn how to turn a white carnation pink!

Spring into Science

Spring into science this April with an exciting hands-on family workshop at the Old Museum that celebrates our favourite season. Learn about the water cycle and create raining clouds, then design beautiful spring flowers and butterflies using a special science trick to create their colours. Finally, make soft and squishy playdough with natural scents to take home at the end of the session

SSC Catapults and Castles – Break the Battlements

Since ancient times, the catapult has been a masterful piece of technology used by armies to smash the walls of castles and fortresses. From trebuchets to ballistas and mangonels, these powerful siege engines were craftily engineered to fire objects such as rocks and burning tar balls a very long way. Now it’s the turn of your young engineers to build and test their own sling-shot machines before working in teams to try and overcome the opponents battlements.

Date: Saturday 7 April 10am – 11.30am, 12.30pm – 2pm and 2.30pm – 4pm

Pilot School  – Up, Up and Away

What connects toilet roll to a clever mathematician from hundreds of years ago? How do airplanes stay in the sky and can rocket mice fly? Come along to this workshop at Roald Dahl Museum for 6-10 year olds to find out! Young aviators will learn all about air flight using chocolate, make a ball float magically in mid-air, make small rocket-mice fly and build an amazing paper airplane.

Henley River & Rowing Museum are holding daily Easter Egg Hunts over the Easter Holidays

Date: 29 March – 15 April 2018



Meet the magnificent birds from Millets Farm Falconry and get up close to hawks, eagles and owls.

Enjoy nature themed art and craft activities – watch out for the vultures!

Ttravel underground to make your very own jumpy bunny, mole in a hole, brilliant badger, bouncy bat, playful fox and mischievous meerket.

Available Saturdays and every day during the Oxfordshire school holidays.

30 March – 2 April 2018

Enjoy an Easter weekend of eggsploration and family entertainment at Blenheim Palace. Follow an over-sized Easter Egg Hunt throughout the ‘Capability’ Brown Parkland and Pleasure Gardens with some 8ft giant decorated eggs to find. Explore the grounds to discover the special ‘Blenheim Egg’, note it’s location on your map and enter a competition to win an Easter surprise.

The Pleasure Gardens will transform into an Easter Wonderland with lots of interactive experiences, family-friendly activities and shows to enjoy. Find a traditional Victorian Fairground with vintage rides for the whole family. There will also be a feast of family-friendly food with a range of fresh hot and cold snacks, handmade pizzas, soups, salads, ice cream and a range of healthy options for children too.

Runs 10.00am – 5.00pm. Admissions: children under 5 are free, children 5 – 16 years £14.50, adults £23.00. There will be a small surcharge for some activities.

Head along to Stonor for this year’s Easter Egg Trail.  Follow the clues around the Gardens and Wonder Woods to win a prize, and then spend time jumping, splashing, climbing and swinging in Wonder Woods.

Easter at Waddesdon Manor

Easter Egg Hunt

Head down to Waddesdon Manor this Easter to take part in a fun Easter egg hunt around the grounds. The rare and exotic birds of Waddesdon’s Aviary need your help, help bunny find the eggs before it’s too late!

This egg trail costs £3.00 per child and starts and finishes at the North Front. It will run from 30 March – 2 April 2018, 10.00am – 3.30pm. No need to book, just turn up and play!

Wild Weather Trail

Don’t get blown away! Follow the wet and wild sensory trail around the grounds at Waddesdon.

The trail costs £3.00 per child and runs from 4 – 15 April 2018, 10.00am – 2.30pm. No need to book tickets for this event.

Bring the little ones to Cliveden National Trust this Easter for a Spring themed trail around the estate, and a chocolate treat at the end! There’s no need to book, just turn up and enjoy all that Cliveden has to offer. As well as the trail there’s a children’s play area, a maze and café & restaurant if you want to grab a bite to eat too.

The trail will run daily from 30 March – 15 April 2018, 10.00am – 3.30pm. It’s £3.00 per child and you can get your trail sheet from the information centre by the main car park.
